April 27th - May 3rd
Intro
Within a narrow window of opportunity, Nature allowed us the first team climb of the season up Emigration. It was surprisingly busy for having just emerged from major rains of the previous 24 hours. It was refreshing, the roads were dry and it was a blast.

Raise your hand if you are tired. OK, now everybody put your hand down and read this article about sleep. And how working on your sleep habits could translate to a benefit on the road.

Ride Calender -

 Saturday May 2nd:
PLAN A: Olympus Cove/Millcreek to Salt Lake Marina (65-ish miles, 1700-ish ft elevationPLAN A: Meet at 8:40am to be riding by 9:00am
PLAN A Start Location: Lower parking lot, Millcreek Bicycles in Olympus Cove
PLAN B: Airport to Salt Lake Marina for Plan B (32-ish miles, 0ft elevation)
PLAN B: Meet at 9:25am to be riding by 9:45am
PLAN B Start Location: 2400 W North Temple - southeast corner of the airport

This is a departure from how we've done things in the past - but since Brian Bush was gracious enough to offer to lead a Plan B group for those who are not quite up to doing the full route, let's try it out. He, with the assistance of Mike Deraedt (woot woot, he's been cleared to ride), will lead the PLAN B option - please make sure to check in and out with him. Hopefully the stars will align and the Plan A and Plan B groups will meet up with perfect timing at the Marina (gotta be optimistic, right?? :))

PLAN A Route Summary: Make our way north from Olympus Cove to 11th Ave via Hogle Zoo, Research Park, and the University Medical complex. Wend our way west through City Creek Canyon, behind the State Capitol and out to 2200 West to make our way down to the southeast corner of the airport. From there, it's the airport to Marina ride (remember the left at the golf course onto the bike path!) - and group photos at the Marina!
PLEASE NOTE: the return route is different from what we've done in the past. Instead of climbing back up and around the State Capitol, we'll drop south for a more gradual climb back to Millcreek through the neighborhoods (1000 West, 800 South, 300 East, 2700 South, 2000 East, Evergreen past Skyline and "home").
ALSO NOTE: We are on surface streets, some with much more traffic than we've encountered on previous rides. ALWAYS be aware of what's going on around you, obey ALL traffic laws and ride smoothly, predictably and safely.

In addition to the RideWithGPS map link below, I will have hard copies of the route map - this route is somewhat notorious for creating a lost soul or two...lol...
BB-BA: Millcreek To Marina

Be ready to roll at 10:00am for a pleasant stroll down Holladay Blvd to 6100 South, then head west, making our way along 6100 South then Vine St to 900 East/700 East. South to Draper and Bake360 at 123rd South for the turnaround and a delicious treat. Join us along the way if you can!

Standing rides during the week:

Thursdays: meet to ride at 6:15pm at the southeast corner of the airport (2400W North Temple). This will be geared towards practice practice practice: pacelines and group riding.

This Summer - standing invitation:
Do you have a suggestion for a route and a weekend to do it? Nearly all the rides we have listed on the ride calendar from July to October are open for editing. Let me or Tim Schaars know what your route is and which weekend you'd like to have us ride it, and we'll get it incorporated.

Be courteous and always ride safely since the laws of physics rule
